Lena Metlege Diab, Member of Parliament for Halifax West, announced today on behalf of the Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA, a total investment of $1,942,993 through ACOA Canada’s Jobs and Growth Fund (JGF) for five projects in Halifax that are expected to create up to 29 new jobs.
“The vitality of our business communities across Atlantic Canada…support them to create good jobs, support inclusive and clean growth opportunities, and build resiliency for years to come,” Petitpas Taylor said in a news release.
The five projects being funded are: Maritime Labels & Packaging, Sparrow Acoustics Inc.; Coastline Cordage Group Ltd.; Ashored Innovations, and International Pre-owned Barcode Ltd.
These “Companies are working hard to seize new growth opportunities through innovation and expanding their workforces in the process…is key to building a vibrant, resilient economy and a strong future,” said Lena Metlege Diab in the news release.
$700 million over three years is being provided by the Jobs and Growth Fund (JGF) — launched in July 2021 — to Canada’s regional development agencies to support a regional response and stimulate economic recovery following the COVID-19 crisis by investing in projects that will help to create jobs.
The Government of Canada aims to support the transition to a green economy, through the JGF to foster an inclusive recovery, enhance competitiveness, and create jobs in every corner of the country.
