Kolkata/IBNS-CMEDIA: The trailer and music of upcoming Bengali film Ghun Gaon – Chapter 1 was unveiled earlier this week, offering a glimpse into its mysterious world ahead of its release.
Directed by Soumya Roy Choudhury, the film is set in a village where a wildlife photographer arrives in search of a black leopard, gradually becoming entangled in a series of mysterious events.
While the narrative carries multiple layers, the director has described it as one of his most commercial stories, aimed at combining a thriller-driven plot with an engaging cinematic experience.
The film features Aninditaa Bose, Ranojoy Bishhnu, Sankar Debnath, Rohini Chatterjee, Soumya Majumdar and others in important roles.

Actor Aninditaa Bose said, “I’m very excited about this project. I was very passionate about what I was doing and we used to have so much fun while shooting. Everyone in the team had such positive energy that nothing held us back.
“But I must say this trailer is truly misleading of what the actual film is going to be. The real story will be revealed once people actually go to watch the film in theatres.”
Speaking about the film, Roy Choudhury said the story was initially conceived in Hindi before being developed as a Bengali film.
He also cited his influence from Hollywood thrillers, particularly films that explore mind-bending narratives, as one of the inspirations behind the project.

“The actual asset of this film is its story. This trailer is very carefully and tactfully created. Some films are meant to be watched in the theatres, and this film is one of them. There might be some elements missed, if not watched in theatres”, actor Ranojoy Bishhnu added.
The director also spoke about the challenges of making a commercial thriller within budgetary limitations.
According to him, the financial constraints became one of the biggest hurdles in bringing the story to the screen, but the support of what he described as a strong creative and technical team helped him realise his vision.

The evening also featured special live musical performances by Timir Biswas and Sayantani Ghosh. Besides the live performance, it also featured the music video sung by Sunidhi Chauhan.
The film is set to be released in cinemas on September 11.
