IBNS-CMEDIA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for the strictest possible punishment for those responsible for the alleged NEET paper leak, describing the prevention of examination leaks as a “national responsibility” and urging collective efforts to strengthen the country’s examination system.
The remarks were shared by Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju after the NDA Parliamentary Party’s Mangal Milan meeting on Tuesday.
PM seeks stronger, foolproof examination system
Quoting the Prime Minister, Rijiju said PM Modi stressed that safeguarding the integrity of public examinations should be a shared national commitment.
He said the Prime Minister urged all stakeholders to work together to create a foolproof examination system and ensure such incidents are prevented in the future.
On the NEET examination, the Prime Minister said that the government acted immediately after reports of the paper leak surfaced, and 13 people were arrested and sent to jail.

Appeal for cooperation in Parliament
According to Rijiju, PM Modi also appealed to NDA allies to remain united in ensuring the smooth functioning of Parliament and urged opposition parties to participate constructively in legislative business.
While acknowledging political differences, the Prime Minister said all Members of Parliament have a shared responsibility towards the country’s future and the welfare of its youth.

Government acted swiftly after NEET leak: PM
Rijiju said PM Modi highlighted the government’s prompt response after reports of the alleged NEET paper leak surfaced, leading to arrests and action against those allegedly involved.
The Prime Minister also noted that a re-examination was conducted without delay to minimise the impact on students’ academic futures.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the alleged mastermind behind the leak, identifying him as a chemistry lecturer associated with the National Testing Agency’s examination process.
The Education Ministry has also launched an online portal for reporting suspicious claims, unauthorised content and fraudulent activities linked to the examination.
Backdrop of nationwide protests
The Prime Minister’s remarks came amid nationwide protests over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, including the NEET paper leak.

On the opening day of the Monsoon Session, opposition protests over the NEET controversy and the alleged Ram temple donation theft disrupted proceedings in both Houses of Parliament.
Student groups have also continued demonstrations, demanding accountability and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
