IBNS-CMEDIA: A video shared by Indian acting legend Amitabh Bachchan on his Instagram page has gone viral for showcasing the ancient Hindu Vishnu Temple located in Bandar Abbas, the capital of Hormozgan Province, Iran.
In less than 24 hours, the video garnered over 34.1K likes, drawing widespread attention online.
Sharing the clip, Big B wrote: “The Ancient Hindu Vishnu Temple in Bandar Abbas, Iran… Built in 1892 during the Qajar era, it was constructed for Hindu traders from India working in the city… the song… in Persian.”
The video features the Hindu devotional song Ey Rama Jan, sung by Fazina Kishan.
According to Iran’s official news agency IRNA, the temple was built in 1310 AH (1892 AD) during the reign of Mohammad Hassan Khan Sa’d-ol-Malek, then ruler of Bandar Abbas, with contributions collected by Indian merchants residing in the city.
The temple’s architectural style is considered unique and distinct from traditional Iranian designs. Its dome and overall structure are heavily inspired by Indian architecture, IRNA reported while describing the historic monument.
Reports also state that the temple is a registered national heritage monument.
