Washington, D.C./IBNS-CMEDIA: White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has welcomed a baby girl earlier this month, sharing the happy news with followers on social media.
Leavitt welcomed her daughter Viviana on May 1. The baby is healthy and doing well, she said.
‘Our hearts instantly exploded with love’
Sharing the announcement on X, Leavitt wrote: “On May 1st, Viviana aka ‘Vivi’ joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love. She is perfect and healthy, and her big brother is joyfully adjusting to life with his new baby sister.
“We are enjoying every moment in our blissful newborn bubble. Thank you to everyone who reached out with prayers during my pregnancy – I truly felt them throughout the entire experience. God is Good.”
Family life
Leavitt, 28, is married to real estate developer Nicholas Riccio. The couple also share a son.
Rise in Republican politics
In 2022, Leavitt contested the US House of Representatives election from New Hampshire’s 1st congressional district. She won the Republican primary but lost in the general election.
She later served as national press secretary for Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
Youngest-ever White House press secretary
In January 2025, Leavitt was appointed White House press secretary, becoming the youngest person ever to hold the post at the age of 27.
