IBNS-CMEDIA: French actor Lucas Bravo has revealed that he prefers using English over French in The Seduction, a choice that surprised many given his Parisian heart-throb image.

In a candid conversation with France 24, Bravo explained, “Weirdly so, English… because it’s simpler. In French, everything is deep and complex… In America, you have many things that fit in one word. It’s more direct… there are no grey areas. In French, everything is assumptions and games.”

Calling himself an introvert, he said the straightforwardness of English makes it easier for him to express himself.

Two Episodes of The Seduction Already Out on HBO Max

Lucas currently stars in the new web series The Seduction, inspired by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ iconic 1782 novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses.

The first two episodes of its inaugural season have already premiered on HBO Max, with Episode 3 dropping on November 28.

The show marks a striking shift for Bravo, who plays a villain, diving into a morally complex role far removed from his charming chef persona in Emily in Paris.

Speaking to People magazine about stepping into darker territory, Bravo said the role felt “therapeutic,” adding, “There’s a bit of darkness in all of us — it’s about how you allow it to come out.”

His Seduction Playlist? Rihanna

When asked which song he would choose to serenade someone, Bravo picked Rihanna’s “Love on the Brain.”

Despite the playful topic, he emphasized authenticity over theatrics: “Don’t try to be someone you’re not.”

Hints at Quitting Emily in Paris

Bravo has also recently spoken about his frustrations with how his character Gabriel has evolved in Emily in Paris, saying the once-charming role has become “a bit archaic.” He has hinted that he may leave the show after Season 5.

Season 5 of Emily in Paris will premiere on Netflix on December 18, 2025.
