New Delhi/IBNS-CMEDIA: Alphabet’s Google on Tuesday unveiled Gemini 3, the newest model of the Artificial Intelligence model Gemini, in a big boost to its AI journey, media reports said.
Gemini 3 will be immediately available in its widespread search engine and other popular online services.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said on X, “It’s the best model in the world for multimodal understanding, and our most powerful agentic + vibe coding model yet.
“Gemini 3 can bring any idea to life, quickly grasping context and intent so you can get what you need with less prompting.”
In one of the key features with a focus on India, Google has committed to localise Gemini 3 usage data and model storage will stay within the country.
This is a major move to comply with regulatory expectations around data residency and to appeal to Indian enterprise clients.
According to reports, Gemini 3 will be “instantly available” in India via Google Search (AI Mode), Gemini app, AI Studio (for developers) and Vertex AI (for business / enterprise use).
Gemini’s mobile app is already live in India in nine Indian languages: Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Alongside Gemini 3, Google has rolled out Veo 3 (its AI video‑generation model) in India for Gemini Pro subscribers.
In India, with the AI Pro plan (costs ₹1,950/month), users can generate three 8‑second, 720p videos per day using Veo 3.
Why it matters for India?
Regulatory Alignment: Data localization is huge. Storing AI data within India helps Google build trust with Indian enterprises and regulators.
Mass adoption via Jio: The Jio partnership could drive rapid adoption among consumers who may not have paid for Pro otherwise.
Democratizing AI: With local language support and mobile-first rollout, Gemini 3 could reach a much larger, more diverse audience in India.
Boost for Developers: Indian developers get access to cutting-edge models (multimodal + reasoning) to build AI-powered applications via AI Studio / Vertex AI.
