IBNS-CMEDIA: Elon Musk’s Tesla is laying off more employees and it includes senior executives and long-time veterans of the company, media reports said.
According to reports, the company has removed the entire Supercharging team and the executive responsible for negotiating NACS adoption across the industry.
Now, more layoffs have been finalized through an email from CEO Elon Musk to executives, first reported by The Information, stating that 6-year veteran Rebecca Tinucci, Tesla’s Senior Director of EV charging, would be leaving the company on Tuesday, along with most of her 500-person charging team, reported Electrek.
Tinucci was reportedly responsible for the company’s EV charging business.
The email states that Tesla will continue to build out some new Superchargers, and will finish those under construction. But relieving the team of its duty may signal a reduction in buildout of the system – at a time when, if anything, faster charging station deployment is needed, reports Electrek.
Daniel Ho, head of new products, has been reportedly sacked by the tech major company.
Ten percent global workforce lay off?
The company earlier announced more than 10% of its global workforce will be cut short.
Two senior leaders, battery development chief Drew Baglino and Rohan Patel, were among those who announced they were leaving the company.
Baglino posted on X: “I made the difficult decision to move on from Tesla after 18 years yesterday. I am so thankful to have worked with and learned from the countless incredibly talented people at Tesla over the years.”
He said: “I loved tackling nearly every problem we solved as a team and feel gratified to have contributed to the mission of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy, a mission that I am quite passionate about.”
He said: “I will always have a warm spot for the people of Tesla and Tesla products in my heart and wish the team and company the best in the future. When I joined as a junior firmware / electrical engineer back in 2006, a future Tesla that produced the world’s top selling vehicle was well beyond my expected set of outcomes. A reminder to all of us to set higher expectations, I guess :)”

Patel wrote on X: “The past 8 years at Tesla have been filled with every emotion – but the feeling I have today is utmost gratitude. To our unbelievable customers and fans – I’m inspired by your passion and impact on @Tesla and the mission. To @elonmusk for giving me the chance and empowering me to lead big initiatives at the company. To the broader Tesla team – the never-say-die attitude and scrappiness is what makes the place special.”
