Toronto launches Jun 17, St Lawrence Market, Pride Brunch, Sunday Variety vintage market

Toronto/CMEDIA: Continuing to be one of the City’s premier destinations for visitors and local residents alike, launch of the St. Lawrence Market on Sunday by Toronto was announced June 16 by Councillor Chris Moise (Toronto Centre), a news release has said.

“I’m very excited about the new Sunday Variety vintage market and the many events and programs happening around the St. Lawrence Market…and celebrate pride at the Pride Brunch this weekend,” said Chris.

St. Lawrence Market is excited to partner with several Toronto-based organizations and community staples to celebrate summer with free, family-friendly programming, with diverse programming, including live music and dance performances, new shopping experiences, outdoor food and drink vendors, and more.

Pedestrian-only Market Street from Front Street to the Esplanade will remain closed to vehicular traffic through the end of September and be used as a vibrant public space, community hub and urban park for summer events at the Market.

Pride Brunch on Market Street would be hosted by its official major cultural partner of Pride Toronto on June 18 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Market Street between Front St. E. and The Esplanade where tasty brunch plates, snacks and drinks would be served by Market vendors along Market Street. Free DJ sets, live music, and drag performances by DJ Lytes, Yarro, Just Peachy, Jayjay Kings and more with Anastarzia Anaquway headlining the day’s events.

Sunday Variety vintage market would be held at Temporary Market at 125 The Esplanade on Sunday, June 18, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. with events taking over the Temporary Market space throughout the summer. Various vendors, including artisan goods, antiques, home décor, vintage clothing, gourmet snacks, beverages and more would be there to help the shoppers. Organized by the team behind the wildly popular Hippie Market pop-ups, the event would be held throughout Toronto.

Recognized as one of Toronto’s most popular destinations and one of the world’s top food markets, the St. Lawrence Market Complex consists of St. Lawrence Hall, the South Market and the North Market – the latter now in its temporary home at 125 The Esplanade.
